From Newstimes.com – Found at the Chamomile Natural Food Store located in Danbury, there’s a wide array of exotic juices – goji, mangosteen, and noni. Though the most popular, as it has been noted either in juice or supplement – is the açai, the best-seller from the Amazon forests of Brazil.

“It’s such a big hit,” notes health consultant Joe Massaro.
Açai juice and supplements are also found at Nature’s Temptation located in Ridgefield.

“You can also find the real fruit in our freezer,” mentions store owner Jeff Konchalski, “because I also make the smoothies.”

This wonder fruit has been the most popular for the past years because the market has been clamoring for it.

The reason of its huge popularity lies in the fact that the wonder Brazilian berry contains such a high level of antioxidants compared to most fruits and berries found in the UK or US. Health buffs all over the world hunt for the important nutrients that will purge the body from free radicals. These molecules, as we age, spread inflammation which has been scientifically proven to be linked with a lot of diseases – particularly in terms of aging, cancer, leukemia, even Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The anti-oxidants found on this wonder berry are higher than what are usually found on cranberries, grapes, purple berries, and strawberries – which act as scavengers to clean up the free radicals that are usually incurred by unhealthy lifestyles.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal however warns the public of the rampant fraud happening in acai berry supplements. “Be wary and cautious of acai berry supplements in free trial offers,” Blumenthal adds, “Hundreds of these cases have been reported to the BBB as hundreds of thousands have been victimized by this scam.
